Spring Cleaning

I got some spring cleaning done now that the weather has warmed up. I took all of the cages out in the yard and power washed them and scrubbed them with a wire brush. I vacuumed up all of the loose hair and disinfected everything. I was also able to organize a little better. It feels great to have everything all clean!

Nest Box News

I have been so busy lately, I have not had much time to update my blog.
We currently have 25 babies in the nest box! Yeah ...I love Spring!!!
Our Netherland babies are looking so cute and we have a variety of colors in the Mini Lops. We will have lots of Rabbits for sale soon.

I have been making some improvements to the Rabbitry a little at a time. We just put in Plexiglas dividers between all of the cages which I have been wanting to do for quite awhile. The rabbits can see each other and it is not as dark as having solid dividers. I insulated the roof with 1 in. Styrofoam in preparation for the summer heat.Hopefully it will keep things a little cooler this summer.

Show News

Stormie Haven's Dream Maker BOB at 5 months old!

We made it to our first show this year and I have to say...it was almost too cold to be any fun.We only took 6 rabbits to show so we spent more time trying to warm up than we did showing.I had some juniors that I wanted to try out on the show table and it went pretty well.

Twice Around The Sun got DQ'd in show A for being over jr weight but came in 2nd of 7? in show B.The judge said it was a very close second which was awesome since she was the only non extension mini lop there.

Glitter Girl got 5th of 5 in show A and 2nd of 5 in show B.

Oopsie Daisy got DQ'd in the Youth show but got 1st of 4 in show B.

Magic Moon won a leg for BOV in the Youth show and got 2nd of 7 in show B.

Dream Maker was 1st of 4 in show A and earned a leg for BOB in show B. We did not stick around for BIS...it was too cold and we were really tired!

We came home with a new cute little Netherland Dwarf from Dwarf Villa and a new doe from Minterbrook Rabbitry.

Best Kept Secret

Best Kept Secret has had another amazing litter! I can't thank Lana enough for sending me this girl. I have not been disappointed with any of her litters. She was bred to a blue/fawn harliquin (Halo) so these babies will carry orange/tri and dilute...probably chocolate also. An awesome addition to my tri project!!! I can wait to see how these guys turn out but so far I am impressed.
